The College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences held its annual feeding program for 60 selected participants from our partner communities, with the theme “Paulinian nurses lend a helping hand!” This was a project in partnership with the Community Development Center of St. Paul University Manila and the Red Cross Youth Council, which aims to render service to our brothers and sisters through acts of generosity, kindness, and compassion; to develop a deeper tenderness toward others by showing and sharing Christ’s love and goodness; and to promote social awareness and give humanitarian services while practicing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes learned in the class room and clinical setting.
The said event took place on 19 July 2014 in the SPU Manila Canteen. The students served the food to the participants. There were also student volunteers from other courses--BS Tourism and AB Mass Communication--who joined the feeding.
The activity started with a prayer led by one of the participants. After eating, everybody was happy and thankful for the success of the activity. The students cleaned the place and washed the dishes.
