Twenty delegates from SPU Manila attended the OBE icon 2016 or the 1st OBE International Conference, with the theme “The Transformational Power, Purpose, and Promise of OBE: Cutting Edge Models and Practices.” The conference was held in Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City on 3-4 November 2016.

The twenty delegates, composed of SPC Sisters, lay managers, and faculty, had the chance to listen and learn from Dr. William Spady, an authority on paradigm-shifting and empowering approaches to OBE and models of learning and living, among others.

The two-day session centered on how to bring the essence of OBE to life through its four power principles, namely: Clarity of Focus on outcomes of significance, Expanded Opportunity for all to succeed, High Expectations, and Designing the Curriculum down from where you want to end up. According to Dr. Spady, these four principles are the lifeblood of OBE in action, more so when they are applied consistently, creatively, systematically, and simultaneously.
