The Academic Services held two faculty development sessions at the start of the school year. The first session was entitled “Schoology: A Look at Innovating Instruction.” The whole day activity was meant to give avenues for the faculty to innovate their instruction through a learning management session. The workshop was facilitated by resource persons from REX.
The second session was on “Implementing OBE in the Curriculum: Aligning IGO-PGO-CO.” The objectives of the session were to decide on the OBE-ized syllabus template to be used university-wide; align Paulinian Graduate Attributes, Institutional Graduate Outcomes, and Program Outcomes; use the approved template in creating OBE-ized syllabi at the course level and prepare OBE-ized syllabi for respective subjects/courses.
Dr. Elizabeth Ramos presented the various teaching methodologies which the faculty members can use to make classroom instruction more student-centered. Dr. Marichen Dychangco presented what and how values can be integrated in the classroom, while Ms. Eva Navarro gave a presentation on assessment tasks. The two sessions were participated in by the full time and part time undergraduate and graduate faculty.
