Part ThreeDate: November 2, 2017Posted by: Marionette Martinez
October 13: Our visit to Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) International started with a tour of the International Centre for Aerospace Training (ICAT), a world leading training provider, working with civil and military organizations globally. The ICAT has world class facilities and has excellent links to avaiation industries.
From the ICAT, we were brought to the CAVC City Centre Campus and there, Nick Ions, Deputy Head of Automotive Engineering brought us around for a tour of the Automotive Training Centre, one of the largest of its kind–housing top class specialist facilities for learners and industry.
The tour was followed by a presentation of Emils Evans, Vice Principal for Curriculum and Standards, after which we were treated to a buffet lunch.
Finally in the afternoon of October 13, we went back to Cardiff Metropolitan University for the closing and farewell session. We recognized their great contribution to this whole partnership tour of the South Manila Educational Consortium in Wales, United Kingdom. It was Cardiff Metropolitan University, through Mr. Aboubakar Fathalla, the International Engagement Manager, who invited the participants to visit Cardiff Met.
It was also Cardiff Met who organized our visits to the other schools, prearranged for our land transport services and special dinner on the second and third day. To the officials of Cardiff Met for their generosity and kindness, we are profusely grateful.
The SMEC Presidents also thank the British Council for sponsoring the participants’ accommodation in Cardiff.
October 14: The SMEC Presidents left Cardiff , Wales to London , England by train.
