The Guidance and Career and Placement Services organized a Career Education Seminar to help prepare the students to enter the workplace with the help of Mr. Kim Chua of Jobs180. The seminar oriented them on basic job hunting and the employability skills needed by the students to enter and progress in today’s dynamic world of work. This is also a transition phase that is critical to graduating students, and assistance may be needed as they begin to adjust to the new world they will soon be entering.
Mr. Chua had a simulation activity, wherein students were interviewed on stage. This activity not only helped the students visualize the job interview scenario but also made it easier for them to understand the speaker’s discussion on the three types of questions during job interviews: verification, skills, and opinion questions. Mr. Chua reminded them that even their simplest skills and knowledge could be an advantage in seeking a job.
