SPC NUNS VISIT BAHAY PUSO
Visit Brings Joy to VisitorsDate: June 27, 2018Posted by: Marionette Martinez
The SPC Malate Community visited the Bahay Puso, home for the elderly in Balanga, Bataan. Bahay Puso is being managed for the Diocese of Balanga by Sr. Mary Philip Galeno, SPC, Administrator/Superior (photo right). Currently, there are about 29 elders
Sr. Philip is assisted by two other SPC Sisters and a few professional caregivers. Prior to her current assignment, Sr. Philip had been Administrator of the SPC Vigil House in Iloilo and Provincial Assistant for Health Ministry in the 1990s.
Residents of the Bahay Puso are not just advanced in age, but most of them are also afflicted with disabilities: deafness, partial or full visual impairments, and learning disabilities.
The Sisters enjoyed their visit. In the words of Sr. Evangeline Anastacio, SPC, SPU Manila President, “We wondered how we can make the "Lolos and Lolas" happy. Actually, it was they who brought more joy to our hearts.”
