The month of October is especially dedicated to the Holy Rosary. This tradition originates from Pope St. Pius V, who wanted to dedicate a feast to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary following the victory at the Battle of Lepanto against the Turkish fleet on the 7th October 1571.

Conscious of the great power of the Holy Rosary, Pope Francis has invited all the faithful to recite the Holy Rosary, that “sweet chain that links heaven and earth,” during the month of October, as reported in the Press Release from the Vatican.

The entire SPU Manila community paid tribute to Our Lady of the Rosary on 31 October 2019 by holding a Living Rosary in the quadrangle. The solemn but joyful activity was a fitting climax to Rosary Month.
