Different emotions were felt in the first-ever spoken word poetry and acoustic night, titled, “#HugotNight: Tulaan at Musikahang Paulino” held on January 25, 2017 at the University quadrangle.

SPU Manila’s very own Dr. Jerome Cleofas, known for his heartfelt pieces, introduced the concept of “hugot,” which is making a trend in the present time, to the spectators.

Homegrown poets and singers, such as Francois Muncal, Itan Bautista, Bea Rallos, Mii Ninomiya, Alex Seraspe, Nica Ondoy, Maynard Cornejo, Bai Kansi, Raymond Carpio, and AC Ocampo performed during the night.

The special guests were Ian Christopher Sudiacal from Spoken Word Poetry PH and John Chuidian Ilagan from Loudmouth Collective.

Dianne Alexis Dizon, Renz Arnie Rogayan, and Ella Ayate hosted the event.
