Service awardees receive recognition

It was a day of celebration on January 25, 2017 as the SPU Manila community gathered in the Fleur-de-lis Theater for the Service Awards 2017 to recognize the employees who have been serving the institution for several years.

This year’s service awardees included Ms. April Lynn Bautista of the Human Resource Services, who has been in the University for five years; and Ms. Aileen Macanas of the Library and Mr. Dennis Padua of the St. Paul Center for Renewal who have served for 10 years.

Mr. Melvin Jimenez, a generous ICT personnel according to his colleagues, and Ms. Teresita V. Razon, one of the seamstresses of SPU Manila, received awards for their 20 years of service. Also awarded this year was Dr. Gerardo L. Guiuan, Student Welfare and Development Officer, who is described as a supportive, helpful philosopher, a visionary, and a teacher who has served for 25 years.

Another library staff member was awarded for her service for 30 years—Ms. Percida A. Boneo, a patient, kind and accommodating person, according to her colleagues. Mrs. Angelita B. Alcantara, also called ‘Ate Lita’ and known for her motherly love, has served for 35 years.

Retirees this school year are Mr. Roberto P. Manabat, also called as ‘Manong Ben,’ described as a kind and good friend and a hardworking maintenance personnel, who has served for 30 years; Mrs. Erlinda P. Natividad, who is described as kind, and like other mothers, will do anything for her family, will retire by the end of the school year; and former Vice President for Academics, Dr. Rhoda L. Reyes, who is known for her sweet greetings to everyone and for being a mother to the Paulinian community.

The Annual Service Awards recognizes the efficiency, dedication, and commitment of Paulinian employees.
