Paulininan Dance Troupe, the official dance organization of St. Paul University Manila, conquered the stage and bagged the championship title during the first Metro Manila Athletic Conference (MMAC) Street Dance Competition held in the SPU Quezon City Gymnasium on April 2, 2017.
A mix of performers from both senior high school and college programs, PDT showcased a baseball-inspired hip hop performance which landed the team its first championship trophy in a long time after garnering a score of 89.5%, with SPU QC and World City Colleges following behind, respectively.
Kim Aina Haresco, former College of Nursing and Allied Health Services choreographer, and Jim Carlo Digap, a choreographer from the University of Sto. Tomas helped make the team’s performance outstanding.
Preparations for the event started as early as the last week of February as this was PDT’s first time to join an outside competition since Sketcher’s Competition in 2013.
MMAC consists of SPU Manila, SPU Quezon City, World City Colleges, Sienna College Quezon City, St. Joseph College Quezon City, and Asian College Quezon City.
This year’s MMAC was hosted by SPU Quezon City while next year’s host school will be Sienna College Quezon City.
