Manila, September 16, 2025 — The annual SMEC General Assembly, held today at the Bro. Andrew Hall, De La Salle University, brought together representatives from member institutions to discuss past achievements and future plans.
Attendees were representatives of Adamson University, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, De La Salle University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Mapua University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine Christian University, Philippine Normal University Manila, Philippine Women’s University, Santa Isabel College Manila, St. Paul University Manila, St. Scholastica’s College, Technological Institute of the Philippines, and University of the Philippines Manila.
The SMEC (South Manila Educational Consortium) is a collaborative network of educational institutions dedicated to promoting excellence, innovation, and shared resources in higher education in the Southern Manila area. The consortium highlights cooperation among member schools to promote academic quality and community involvement.
St. Paul University Manila reaffirmed its strong commitment to SMEC’s mission through collaboration and mutual support. Representatives of each SMEC Committee took part in fruitful discussions, sharing insights and contributing innovative projects for this year’s attainment of the consortium’s vision.
During the assembly, each committee shared comprehensive reports on its projects and accomplishments from the previous academic year. The committees also rolled out projects and visions planned for the current academic year, reflecting SMEC’s continuous effort towards educational excellence and innovation.
The assembly served as a platform to strengthen partnerships among member institutions and set strategic directions to address emerging challenges in education.
