The Novitiate, a training center for young Filipino women wishing to become Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres, was blessed and opened.
The Kindergarten Department was opened, with an enrollment of six, upon request of families in the neighborhood. The school was named St. Paul Institution.
Grade I was opened with one higher grade opened each year and boys accepted up to Grade 2.
The government recognized the Grade School Department.
The High School Department started with three students.
The Chapel, which was built through the efforts of Reverend Mother St. Xavier, the Provincial Superior, was inaugurated. The maiden issue of the school paper, St. Paul’s Echo, was published.
The first High School Graduation was held.

The Alumnae Association was organized.
The College Department opened with First Year Education, H.E. major; Two-Year Normal College; and One-Year Secretarial Course.
The Conservatory of Music, with majors in Piano Forte, Violin, and Voice, was opened. St. Paul Institution was renamed St. Paul College of Manila.
The Japanese occupied the school compound.
The Japanese Army bombed the school; the chapel’s façade with the crucified Christ surviving.

Mother Anna de Jesus, SPC, was installed as Superior of St. Paul Manila. Education, Liberal Arts, Junior Normal, Secretarial Science, Elementary, and Junior Teacher’s Courses in Piano were recognized by the government.
The government recognized a one year CSS and additional Music courses.
The rebuilt chapel was blessed in solemn ceremonies presided over by His Grace, the Most Rev. Michael J. O’Doherty, D.D., Archbishop of Manila.
Mother Socorro Angela Reyes, SPC was installed as Directress/Superior of St. Paul Manila. The PAULINIAN bagged 1st Prize, School Press Red Feather Award.
The String Orchestra was organized.
The new Administration Building was blessed.
The Bachelor of Science in Commerce (BSC) was recognized by the government.
St. Paul College of Manila won the First Place in the nation-wide examination on the Marian Catechism. A college freshman scored 99%. The prize, a lovely statue of the Blessed Mother, is now in the St. Paul Manila Museum.
Mother Gabriel McGrath, SPC was installed as Superior and Mother Socorro as Directress. Bachelor of Science in Education (BSED) was recognized.
The Liberal Arts, Commerce, and Education programs were accredited by PAASCU. St. Paul College of Manila joined the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) as Charter Member.
The Fleur-de-lis Auditorium was blessed.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) was opened with five-year BSN, four-year BSN, two-year Supplemental Course.
The government recognized the BSN program.
BSN began an unbroken chain of 100% passing rate in the Nursing Board Exams in the next 25 years from 1962 until 1989.
The government recognized the Supplemental Course in BSN.
PAASCU Accreditation was granted to the High School Department.
Sr. Benjamine de Jesus Ponce, SPC, was installed as Directress of SPC Manila.

Sr. Mary Cyril Corpus, SPC, was installed as 3rd President of SPCM. Inter-Institutional Consortium (IIC) was formed with DLSU, PCU, PNU, SSC. The High School Department underwent 2nd PAASCU Re-Accreditation. The College Department (Liberal Arts, Commerce, and Education) had its 3rd PAASCU Accreditation.
First graduation of BS in Food and Nutrition was held. The College of Nursing underwent initial PAASCU accreditation, the first School of Nursing in the Philippines to apply for PAASCU Accreditation.
The Five-Year BSN and two-year supplemental courses were phased-out. SPU Manila Mission Statement was revised.
Re-accreditation of Liberal Arts, Commerce, Education, and Nursing Programs was undertaken Major in Marketing of the Business Program was opened. First graduation of SPCM-DLSU Shared Degree Program in AB Economics and SPCM-PNC in Education was held.
The High School phase-out was started. Courses in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Secretarial Administration, and major in Public Relations were opened.
Degree courses in Information and Computer Science and Economics were opened. A graduate placed 3rd in the Nutritionists’ Board Exam.
Another graduate placed 4th in the Nutritionists’ Board Exam.
Sr. Miriam Raymond Victoriano, SPC was installed as 4th President of SPCM. Last high school graduation was held before the department was moved to Ortigas, Pasig.
First graduation of the Computer Science Program was held.
The Grade School Department was re-opened. Re-accreditation of Liberal Arts, Commerce, Education, and Nursing programs was undertaken.
The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) granted accreditation status to the following programs surveyed by the PAASCU: Computer Science Program (Level I), Nursing Program (Level III), and Arts and Sciences, Education, and Commerce Programs (Level III) Last graduation for Food and Nutrition program was held. The new SPCM Dormitory was blessed.
Bachelor of Science in Accountancy was offered. FAAP granted Level II accredited status to Computer Science. Sr. Natividad de Jesus Feraren, SPC was installed as 5th President of SPCM.
The Paula Pilipina Foundation, an active, non-violent movement involved in productive work-related concerns that are pro-life, pro-country, and pro-God, was officially launched.
Nursing graduates attained 100% passing in Board Exams.
The SPU Manila Centennial Gift to the Church project, which is the Formation of 100 Catechists, was launched.
SPU Manila received a Professorial Chair Grant from Mrs. Ana Grace Rosales-Co.
The Grand Centennial Celebration of SPU Manila was opened with a Mass in the Manila Metropolitan Cathedral, presided over by Archbishop of Manila, Luis Antonio Tagle.
Blessing and Grand Opening of the SPU Manila Museum and Archives was held.
The Centennial Marker and Sculptures in the Centennial Garden were unveiled.
The Grand Centennial Alumni Homecoming, held in the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, was attended by over 2000 alumni and guests, including former St. Paul Manila Superior, Mother Gabriel McGrath, SPC, who came from London.
The centennial coffee table book, A Hundred Thousand Miracles, edited by Marionette O. Martinez, was launched in the homecoming.

The comedia, Prinsipe Rodante, was presented in the Fleur-de-lis Theater as part of the Caritas Christi Centennial Award of Dr. Felicidad Mendoza.
The Honorable Yona Yahav, Mayor of Haifa, Israel and Party, visited SPU Manila.
Trips to Bohol and Vietnam were given to all personnel as SPU Manila’s centennial gift.
Accountancy, Business Administration, Psychology, Mass Communication, and Nursing Programs underwent PAASCU Level III re-accreditation visit.
“Nostalgic Chat,” a forum on Paulinian Heritage, was held in the Fleur-de-lis Theater as part of the Caritas Christi Centennial Award of Atty. Benita Marasigan-Santos.
A new community outreach involvement was established in Jubilee Homes, Plaridel, Bulacan, where families displaced by the typhoon “Ondoy” had been relocated.
The Night before Christmas, written by Fr. James B. Reuter, SJ, was re-staged in the Fleur-de-lis Theater as part of his Caritas Christi Centennial Award. It was directed by Sherry Lara-Alingod, HS 1966, AB 1970, President of the St. Paul Manila Alumni Foundation Inc. (SPMAFI).
The “First International Forum on Innovative Collaborative Learning (FICL) in Higher Education” was held as the last centennial academic activity.
The Centennial Celebration officially ended with the following events: Closing Centennial Mass, Conferment of the Fleur-de-lis Centennial Awards to Mrs. Marionette Ocampo-Martinez and Miss Wynna Marie Medina, and Blessing of the Gallery of Portrait Paintings of the 13 school heads of SPU Manila during its first 100 years.

The Music Program of the College of Music and the Performing Arts was declared a Center of Excellence (COE) by the CHED (CMO #8, s. 2013) valid until May 31, 2014.

The CMPA offered Bachelor of Music in Music Education with concentration on Music Therapy and Music Theory, Bachelor of Music major in Performance with concentration on all instruments: Strings, Winds, Brass Percussion, and Master of Music in Collaborative Piano.
A three-year graduate program in Master of Music major in Music Therapy, a pioneer course in the Philippines was opened.
Change in program name from Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication major in Advertising to Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and from Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication major in Communication to Bachelor of Arts in Communication, and phase-out of the Common Freshmen Program were effected.
SPU Manila ranked 10th in the Top Ten Performing Schools in the June 2013 Nurses Licensure Examination.

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between St. Paul University Manila and Loyola College of Culion, represented by Fr. Adriano R. Tapiador, SJ, to facilitate the Teacher Certificate Program for the college graduates in the Calamianes Group of Islands, with faculty members of the SPU Manila Graduate School handling the course.
Bachelor of Music in Music Education with concentration on Music Therapy and a three-year graduate program in Master of Arts in Music, major in Music Therapy were opened.
The preliminary phase of the 2013 Strategic Planning was held in the 2nd floor of the HRMTC, with Ms. Angelica Fraginal as facilitator.
SPU Manila hosted the 3rd SPUS Green Fair with the theme, “Responsible Stewards...Caring for Creation.”
Liberal Arts, Mass Communication, Psychology, Business Administration, and Nursing Programs were granted Re-accreditation Status for five years, valid until November 2018.
The Tourism program was granted initial accreditation for three years valid until 2016.
The following programs were granted Level III Accreditation by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP): Nursing, Psychology, Mass Communication, Liberal Arts, and Business Administration, valid for five years (November 2018). The Tourism Program was granted Level I Accreditation, valid for three years (November 2016).

Orientation on the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEAAP) was conducted, with Dr. Margarita Ballesteros of the Commission on Higher Education as Resource Person.
The SPU Manila Music Therapy Center was blessed and formally opened with the launching of the Music Therapy Program. It is the first of its kind in the Philippines, which will provide music therapy services for differently challenged children, adolescents, and adults.
A set of dialogue sessions, entitled “Kapihan ng Pamilyang Paulinian,” was conducted between members of the President’s Council and the different colleges and units.

Sr. Ma. Anunciata Sta. Ana, SPC, Dean of the College of Music and the Performing Arts, was given the Father Louis Chauvet Heritage Music Award by St. Paul University System (SPUS) during the 26th National and 11th International SPC Educators’ Congress, for her contributions to the music heritage of the Philippine Church, the SPC Congregation, and the Conservatory of Music of SPU Manila.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) again extended the validity period of SPU Manila’s full Autonomous Status and the Center of Excellence (COE) recognition granted to the Music Program of the College of Music and the Performing Arts until December 31, 2015 (CMO No. 21, series of 2015).

Outcomes Based Education (OBE) Seminar-Workshop was conducted with Dr. Nelson Marcos and Professor Vicente Antonio Pijano III as Resource Persons; output of the workshop was a draft of the SPU Manila Graduate Attributes.
A delegation from Shirayuri Women’s University Midorigaoka, Tokyo, Japan, headed by its President, Dr. Koutaro Paul Yamanouchi, came to SPU Manila on a goodwill visit.

SPU Manila was again granted Autonomous Status by the CHED for a period of three years from April 1, 2016 to May 31, 2019 (CMO No. 20, series of 2016).
The Campus Ministry Certificate Summer Program was offered for the first time, with 23 participants from different Paulinian and other Catholic schools.
Sr. Anunciata Sta. Ana, SPC was recognized as Musicam Sacram Awardee during the 4th Diocesan Convention on Music in the Liturgy held in the Immaculate Concepcion Seminary, Bulacan, for her invaluable contribution to the promotion of reforms in liturgical music in the Diocese of Malolos, as envisioned by the 2nd Vatican Council, through her music and compositions.
Dr. Ma. Encarnacion Dychangco was appointed as the second lay Vice-President for Academic Services.
CHED recognized the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences as a Center of Development and extended the recognition of the College of Music and the Performing Arts as a Center of Excellence.
St. Paul University Manila was selected among the schools in the National Capital Region to serve as the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) Regional Secretariate with the incumbent University President, Sr. Ma. Evangeline Anastacio, SPC as the PEAC-NCR Regional Program Director and Sr. Alegria Avellaneda, SPC as the Regional Program Coordinator.
The Research Center was renamed “Center for Research, Innovation, and Development (CRID)” and was placed under the Office of the President.
SPU Manila was recognized by CHED to be a Delivering Higher Education Institution (DHEI) for the approved programs consistent with CMO Nos. 8, 10, and 16, series of 2016 under the Graduate Education Scholarships in the K to 12 Transition Period (CMO No. 4, series of 2016).
SPCM-HS Alumni Batch 1962 turned over the first tranche of their donation to the H.O.P.E. Ablaze Fund intended to support the miscellaneous, other fees, and book allowance for 25 Senior High School students for two years.
St. Paul University Manila received the first tranche of a $25,000-pledge from Mila Glodava (BSE 1969) for the H.O.P.E. Ablaze Fund-Raising Program.
The Senior High School regular classes were opened with 646 Grade 11 students and 11 Grade 12 students.
The opening of the school year for the tertiary level was moved to July in view of transferring the opening of the school year to August.

The Cultural and Academic Exchange Program between SPU Manila and Sendai Shirayuri Women’s College in Sendai and Shirayuri University Midorigaoka, Japan was launched.

With the theme “Developing Transcultural Nurses,” the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, in coordination with the International Relations Office and Language Development Office, facilitated a seven-day special training program for 12 nursing students of Catholic University of Daegu, Korea.
SPU Manila launched the celebration of its 105th Founding Anniversary with a Concert at the Park in the Open-Air Theater, Rizal Park.

The AB Scholarship Fund called “A Hundred Dollars for a Hundred Dreams”, a fund-raising endeavor initiated by Ms. Marionette Martinez was launched and integrated into the H.O.P.E. Ablaze Program.

An MOU was signed between SPU Manila and the School of Nursing of Brawijaya University of Indonesia, represented by Dr. Sri Andarini M. Kes, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, for educational and research exchanges, joint undergraduate and graduate programs, and joint researches.
The CPD Council of Professional Teachers accredited SPU Manila as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Provider under the IRR of the CPD Act of 2016 set forth by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) with accreditation no. 2017-085 valid until September 24, 2020.
Bubbly Clean and Brew Pen, two student projects of the Business Management and Entrepreneurship Programs, were declared as NCR Regional Winners and Top 20 National Finalists in the BPI Sinag U Business Plan Competition. In the Business Pitch Category, Bubbly Clean placed 3rd, while Brew Pen placed 5th.
