“Lights shine brighter because we’re doing this for her honor.” A quote from Ms. Ma Regina Cachero’s Opening Remarks for Kantiyawan 2026, held on March 14, 2026, at St. Paul University Manila’s Fleur-de-lis Theater.
Kantiyawan is a presentation with two purposes – an entertainment for the students and a heartbeat for Dr. Lourna Tagay. The theme of this year’s program goes back to the 90s: Kantiyawan OPM at OPM (Original Pinoy Music and Original Pinoy Movies).
For the front act of the show: the Supreme Student Council performed In or Out, paving the way for the main cast of Kantiyawan, energizing and hyping the crowd with the rhythm of Baile.
Different eras chosen by the performers were:
Golden Era of Manila: Manila, Mr. DJ, Ikaw Lang Ang Aking Mahal, and Mr. Disco
Manila Sound Hits: Bonggahan, Bongga Ka Day, and Annie Batungbakal
OPM Disco: Macho Gwapito, I-Swing Mo Ako, Doo Bi Foo, and Sumayaw Sumunod
VST Dance Hits: Awitin Mo Isasayaw Ko, Disco Fever, Swing, May I have this Dance, and Tayo’y Magsayawan
Alternative Rock: With a Smile, Cool Ka Lang, and Akin Ka Nalang
Female Dance Hits: Urong Sulong, Kapag Tumibok ang Puso, Mr. Kupido, and Chuva Choo Choo.
Movie Theme Song: Ewan, Hinahanap-hanap kita, Chinito, and Ale
Sexbomb Dance Hits: Bakit Papa, Di Ko Mapipigilan, Tong Song, and Kembot
OPM Duets: Kahit Habang Buhay, O Pag-ibig, and Dati
Contemporary: Honey, My Love, So Sweet, Dahil Sa ‘yo, Di Bale Nalang, Paligoy ligoy, and Tala

Tanginang Ina reflected everyone’s hard work and dedication, as it was followed by the closing number, involving the whole cast. Kantiyawan is more than an event filled with diverse performances: rehearsed since day one, it is about the community of unity and tradition led by the one and only Director, Dr. Lourna Tagay. As said in closing, Doc LT would be smiling ear-to-ear seeing the performances led by the Co-Directors, Ms. Ma. Regina Cachero and Mr. Oliver Rodriguez.
The curtain closed at 7:00 P.M., leaving everyone’s heart filled with love and joy.
