SPU Manila to hold Music Therapy Conference in May 2015

The St. Paul University Manila Music Therapy Center is the FIRST in the Philippines to provide music therapy services for children and youth with disabilities. As such, the Center undertakes the task to advance public awareness of the benefits of music therapy and increase access to quality music therapy services in a rapidly changing world through the unique knowledge and skill of degree holders in music therapy. It is in this light that the Center will launch THE SOUND OF HEALING – The First Music Therapy Conference in the Philippines on 28-29 May 2015 in St. Paul University Manila.

Two topics will be discussed during the conference with each of the speakers giving her own perspective on the topics. The two-day conference will feature the following internationally-trained experts:
Ms. Annette Asuncion, MS, MA, NBCT (USA)
Ms. Marissa Marin, RP, MA (Switzerland)
Ms. Elizabeth Flordeliza, MA SpEd, MAM-MT (Japan)

The conference should be of interest to students, music professionals, researchers, psychologists, pediatricians, parents of children and youth with special needs, and members of development organizations who are engaged in music therapy work, particularly for differently challenged children and adults.
