We are molded to give service to people who are in need—that is why we are called Nurses. On 31 August 2014, students from the third year and fourth year of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences went to the Paco Citizen Academy for a Medical Dental Mission sponsored by Rotary Club of Paco Manila and TEAM Paco. They invited SPU Manila CNAHS to join the said event because they needed more manpower in the vital signs taking, medicine dispensing, and dental services. Without hesitation, the invitation was accepted, for it was a great opportunity to serve our fellow brothers and sisters in Paco, Manila.
The experience was amazing. The nursing students enhanced their knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the community setting. We were able to interact with the people and at the same time help them in our own little ways. It may be tiring but it was fulfilling. We are glad that the Rotary Club of Paco Manila and TEAM Paco invited us to be with them in the said activity. We also thank our clinical instructors, who were there with us, Mr. Dexter Soguilon and Mr. Angelo Bunagan. It was an experience worth remembering.
