FIRST VIRTUAL ALUMNI HOMECOMING (Part 1)
ALUMNI COME HOME VIA ZOOM AND FACEBOOKDate: February 1, 2021Posted by: Marionette Martinez
The first ever virtual Alumni Homecoming was held yesterday, 31 January 2021. Alumni from all over the world were able to participate in the event via Zoom and Facebook. Those who missed the event could access it on YouTube.
The homecoming commenced with a Mass, celebrated by Fr. David Costa Dominguez of the St. Maria Gorretti Parish, Pope Pius XII Catholic Center.
Sr. Ma. Evangeline Anastacio, SPC, President of St. Paul University Manila, gave an inspiring state of the university address, highlighting the achievements of the school, its faculty and students, and how it has helped frontliners and other health care workers during the pandemic.
She acknowledged the assistance of the alumni in the campaigns for scholarships, PPEs for health workers, and other outreach activities.
Sister’s address inspired the alumni, who were happy to know that the school is thriving, despite the pandemic.
Hopefully it also encouraged them to continue supporting their alma mater in its programs and projects, such as the furnishing of the newly constructed but bare Nursing Arts Lab.
The jubilarian batches were then introduced—silver (College 1996), pearl (College 1991), coral (HS 1986), ruby (HS 1981), sapphire (HS 1976), golden (HS 1971 and BSN 1971), emerald (HS 1966), and diamond (HS 1961).
