The Father Louis Chauvet Cup: More than a Competition

October 20, 2025 – The Father Louis Chauvet Cup (FLCC) opening at 3:00 p.m. was attended by the Paulinian Community. Mr. Jonel Bautista and Ms. Christine Janine Rivera, masters of ceremonies, opened the event. Together, they introduced the various sectors participating in the FLCC this school year—the College of Music and the Performing Arts, the College of Education and Liberal Arts, the College of Nursing and Health Allied Sciences, the College of Business and Management, and the Senior High School Department. The activity was attended by both academic and non-academic sectors, representing camaraderie and mutual support.


“We celebrate more than just competition. We celebrate unity, community, resilience, and respect,” University President, Sr. Ma. Evangeline Anastacio, SPC, stated in her opening remarks: explaining the importance of playing to win, while upholding integrity in doing so. “A true Paulinian is not only strong, but also strong in character,” she added. Her remarks ended in support and applause for the athletes and the community.

Mr. Zachary De Lara led the athletes’ oath, awakening the spirit of belonging, peace, and community in everyone. The ceremonial lighting of the torch followed, with team captains from each department carrying the torch from the university’s fourth floor down to the grounds. The captains were:

The Paulinian Dance Troupe performed an intermission number, showcasing their skill and creativity in dancing.

Finally, Sr. Evangeline officially declared the opening of the 17th Father Louis Chauvet Cup and led the ceremonial toss, marking the official start of the games.
