As SPU Manila continues to develop Paulinians holistically, the Hospitality and Tourism Management Programs held “Green Horizons: A Tourism, Style, & Local Treads Festival” at the Cafe Chez Nous (formerly the HRMTC Coffee Shop) on December 13, 2023.
The event was organized by HMTM MICE CLASS 2023, under the supervision of Mr. Roel Supendio and Ms. Maria Theresa Icalla, and supported by gracious sponsors.
The festival opened with remarks from Mr. Supendio, the MICE Class 2023 adviser. This was followed by a talk by Ms. Ramona Olga Ko, a member of the American Culinary Federation. Ms. Ko discussed innovative culinary techniques and the evolving landscape of gastronomy in the tourism and hotel management industry.
Booths had been assembled at the covered quadrangle as part of the event that was held until December 14. They were officially opened by Sr. Ma. Evangeline Anastacio, SPC, University President, Dr. Mary Grace Leongson, Vice President for Academic and Research Services, Dr. Arsenio Bignotia, Dean of the College of Business and Management, and faculty members of the HMTM Programs.
A second talk was given by the Quality Manager and Data Protection Officer, Ms. Edlyn Gibe.
The event also featured raffle draws, offering attendees the chance to win enticing prizes, such as an overnight stay in a one-bedroom suite with breakfast at Discovery Suites Manila and a three-day-two-night stay at Club Paradise Palawan, further enhancing the excitement of the festival.
“As a tourism student, having the opportunity of organizing an event is really important for me because we get to practice the skills we learned in the classroom that we can continue using in our future careers.”
- Katrina Ranario, Paulinian Tourism Society President
