SPU Manila holds first-ever Zumba Festival and Palarong Paulino

SPU Manila began Day 2 of the University Week 2023 with a Zumba Festival, followed by “Palarong Paulino” on January 26, 2022 at the SPUM Quadrangle.
The first-ever Zumba Festival was spearheaded by the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, with Mr. Red Manalo as the Zumba instructor. The activity was well-attended by the SPC Sisters, non-academic staff, students, as well as faculty members from the Senior High School (SHS) and College Departments. After the Zumba session, the awards were given to the following:
● Zumba King - Gimver Celis from the College of Arts and Sciences
● Zumba Queen - Dr. Maria Leah Sabayle from the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences
● Best Dressed - Sean Justin Barbo from the Senior High School Department
After the Zumba Festival, the College of Education and College of Arts and Sciences facilitated the “Palarong Paulino,” wherein 11 Filipino games were played simultaneously, with each game facilitated by assigned game masters. The 11 Filipino games were:
● Tumbang Preso
● Agawan Base
● Patintero
● Tagu-taguan
● Ice Ice Water
● Chinese Garter
● SipaPiko
● Chess
● Sungka
● Jackstone
Paulinian staff and students from the SHS and College Departments participated in the various Filipino games and played with students and staff from other departments. Prizes were given to all participants and winners in each game.
