EVALUATION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE THE ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM

Abstract: Alternative Learning System (ALS) is looked down upon as a second class, inferior, or inadequate method of learning. Hence, this study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the ALS in the Division of City Schools in National Capital Region (NCR). There were 81 respondents who participated in this study. The study utilized the quantitative research design, descriptive-evaluative type using purposive sampling. The researcher employed a self-made questionnaire in the form of a checklist and utilized 5-point Likert Scale.

This study utilized the descriptive design of research with the use of adapted questionnaire as the principal instruments for gathering data. In this study, the descriptive design was used to give details about the development of online distance learning modality. The convenience sampling method was used in this investigation. Only a few faculty members from Pateros Technological College in Metro Manila took part in the study. The data was analyzed using the Frequency, Percentage, and Weighted Mean functions.

The role of communication and collaboration in English language teaching during uncertain times

Language teaching in the new normal requires patience, creativity, flexibility, and reflection. Both teachers and students are having onerous and laborious situation in coping with all the predicaments and challenges brought about by the disruptive pandemic. This reflective-narrative paper narrates and describes how the author, being a seasoned language teacher, has been coping with the trials and complexities of the new normal. At the end of the anecdotal narration and report, new insights and tips are offered to readers and language teachers who are at the same boat.

APUNG DADONG'S SELECTED KAPAMPANGAN POEMS: A PSYCHOANALYTIC CRITICISM

This research is a psychoanalytic criticism of President Diosdado Macapagal’s Kapampangan poems, aiming at unleashing the poetry’s new way of reading them to highlight the beauty and creativity of poetry in a literary criticism through the psychoanalysis of the personas, literary characters, author, and other literary elements. This literary research employed the psychoanalytic theory by Sigmund Freud as its primary theoretical framework.

Constructing Paulinian Student Leadership during the Covid-19 Quarantine Period: Reflections towards Pandemic- Responsive Student Leadership Formation

This study sought to uncover how the pandemic shaped the leadership of student leaders in St. Paul University Manila by engaging 31 current student leaders who volunteered to participate in this qualitative research through an open-ended Google Form questionnaire. The study revealed that as Filipinos, the students had a heightened awareness of negative reaction to government misconduct, sense of social issues and their social responsibility, and awareness of stress and health.

The Fil-Thai LanguageXChange Program Experience: Exploring the Next Step Forward

The study sought to explore how to best continue the language exchange program of St. Paul University Manila (Philippines) and Silpakorn University (Thailand) by looking into the learning experiences of the participants coming from both universities. Through the use of a mixed open-ended and closed-ended items in Google Form, the students were asked to answer questions that relate to their specific learning experiences throughout the 10-session program after their program was completed.

Practices of Compassion in St. Paul University (SPU) Manila’s Online Classrooms

This study sought to find out the practices of compassion among teachers in SPU Manila as perceived by students. This study employed the descriptive-survey method to derive factual information relevant to the topic under study which aims to describe behaviors and to gather people’s perceptions, opinions, attitudes, and beliefs about certain issues in education” (Lodico, et.al., 2006). To gather information, a 25-item researcher-made questionnaire was used. Eighty-one students from the College of Arts and Sciences participated in the study.

CONFLICT IN THE WORKPLACE AND EFFECTIVENESS OF CONFLICT MANAGEMENT IN A SELECTED LEVEL III DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH HOSPITALS: IMPLICATIONS TO NURSING EDUCATION AND PRACTICE

The study determined the level of conflict experienced by nurse supervisors, head nurses, and staff nurses and the effectiveness of conflict management by nurse managers in selected level III DOH hospitals in Metro Manila. The study used quantitative, descriptive, comparative, and correlational design. A researcher-made questionnaire was administered to 46 nurse supervisors, 143 head nurses, and 149 staff nurses selected through purposive sampling technique.
